The Galaxy Note 7 will soon have to give up the spotlight to the Gear S3. Updates and rumors have started appearing right at the time for IFA Samsung to happen. The Gear S3 is targeted at the outdoorsy type and come with sensors that will support the wearer’s lifestyle choice.

According to Sammobile,the altimeter present in the watch will record all data concerning the altitude and will be able to plot a graph for altitude vs time. You will also have the option to calibrate your data with one tap in the presence of an internet connection and enabled GPS.

The watch will be able to pre warn if bad weather is on its way if the atmospheric pressure shoes changes of more than 4hPa within 3 hours. You will also have the option of manually calibrating all data concerning the barometer reading.

The Gear S3 will not be dependent on a smartphone for its GPS needs as it has one built in. Samsung was able to include a speedometer which shall record your average speed as well as the distance covered while storing all previously recorded data.

A patent application for the Gear S3 Frontier has been submitted to the Korean Patent Authority which makes sense given all the cool features the Gear S3 has to offer.
