Samsung has never been too subtle about taking design inspirations from Apple. Samsung just filed for a patent pertaining to its ‘exchangeable strap mechanisms’ with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) which rather shamelessly contained design uploads of the Apple watch without actually naming where the inspiration for the design came from.

There is no doubt that these images just seem similar to the Apple Watch and we might be mistakenly pointing fingers at Samsung.

Inclusion of images that depict the backside charging mechanism that can be found on the underside of the watch and images of different but immediately identifiable Apple Watch bands serve as inadmissible proof that the designs submitted by Samsung are indeed of the Appel Watch.

This seems like a less than honorable move by Samsung in which it has set out to patent its rivals designs and methods of integration so that they become exclusive to for the Korean smartphone giant.

The news is highly upsetting because there is little chance that this was an oversight made by Samsung. We can go as far as to say that Samsung has actually tried to patent the Apple Watch for itself with this move.
