Pop star Justin Bieber just deleted one of the most popular Instagram account.

Justin Bieber deleted his extremely popular Instagram account, throwing away over 77 million followers. The 22-year-old singer has taken the dramatic measure after threatening to take his account private over hate comments from fans targeting his new love Sofia Richie. Bieber shared a photo of Sofia Richie and him, that triggered Selena Gomez fans to lash out.

Two days ago Bieber posted on Instagram: "I'm gonna make my Instagram private if you guys don't stop the hate this is getting out of hand, if you guys are really fans you wouldn't be so mean to people that I like."

Selena Gomez added allegedly to the hate by commenting on Bieber's threat. Justin Bieber hit back at Selena who took the topic to cheating accusations in another comment. E! Online has the record of the heated exchange, if you must now.

Some Bieber fans celebrate the shutdown of Bieber's Instagram account with the hashtag #justindeactivatedparty on Twitter. They blame Bieber to chose his new girlfriend over his fans.

Deleting a 77 million strong Instagram account is a big deal. I am not sure if it is possible to restore a deleted account. Bieber's publicists definitely will look into that. The marketing power of 77 million people is quite an asset, you should not just throw away like that, even if you are Bieber.

Justin Bieber just got something mega cute to forget all the hate. Meet Todd. Let's hope Bieber does leave Todd at an airport.

17-year-old Sofia Richie is the daughter of famous musician Lionel Richie and his second ex-wife Diana Alexander Richie. She is a fashion model and has starred in TV shows including Candidly Nicole.
