Xiaomi launched a small smart washing machine in China.

Xiaomi ventures in washing machines with the Xiaomi MiniJ. The tiny but smart washing machine has been released in on the Xiaomi crowd-funding platform for 1499 yuan ($226). This is quite affordable. The Xiaomi MinJ is though only suitable for a single household or a weekend house. The capacity is 2.78kg of laundry.

The MiniJ shines through its cool features that include a special bionic surfaces inside the washing machine drum. A special silent motor spins at 700rpm with 45dB maximum noise. In a high-temperature mode the laundry is "cooked" at up to 95% degrees to kill basically all bacteria.

The Xiaomi MiniJ washing machine app supports 14 washing modes and users can schedule when the machine runs.

Measurements of the MiniJ are 500x630x415mm and the weight is 34kg. The MiniJ is only available in China. Depending on the success, Xiaomi might consider to step into white goods business.
