The long Labor Day weekend invites for a short vacation or visit friends and family. Consider going early, saving money and nerves.

Labor Day 2016 is on September 5. There are still two weeks until the long Holiday weekend, but you should already book your flights and airline tickets as Labor Day travel sales are already underway. Early Labor Day 2016 travel ticket sales make sense to shop now, but you can skip the Walmart Labor Day 2016 sale for now that kicked off end of last week.

If your job allows it, consider to book your trip or vacation to leave early. The best time to go on Labor Day vacation is on Wednesday, August 31 or Thursday, September 1 found out the analytics guys at travel site Expedia. If possible at all, avoid Friday before Labor Day to travel. Not only are airports less busy mid-week before Labor Day, but also airfare and vacation packages are cheaper.

The highest saving for Labor Day vacation packages are for London trips. The Dollar is also strong compared to the British Pound, making a Pint in a London Pub somewhat affordable. Other destinations for Labor Day weekend that offer good savings are according to Expedia, Paris, Hawaii and Mexico.

Hawaii is always a great choice. At the two weeks mark, you should already check out the last-minute offers on travel booking sites. Flexibility is always a big plus in finding a great deal on a vacation. If you are locked on arrival and departure time and destination, it becomes harder to save.

It's also advisable to directly visit airline sites to see if they have special offers, but it might be already a bit too late for direct deals for Labor Day.
