New Slim Sony PS4 Console Leak, Updated with Video

The new Sony PS4 console leaked on a UK auction site. See the photos.

The Sony PS4 slim went from rumor to leak within hours. The new much smaller Sony PS4 console leaked on British auction site GumTree. The seller has somehow managed to get a hold on the unreleased new PlayStation 4 console. The auction has been deleted, but the photos of the new slim PS4 and are out.

The seller made photos from all sides of the new PS4 including the packaging. Several photos also show the new slim PS4 console next to the current generation of the Sony PS4. While maintaining about the same footprint the new PS4 Slim is about half the height of the current PS4.

The design of the new housing stays in line with the PS4 console, but is simplified. The design communicates already a lower price. The new Sony PlayStation 4 Slim will retail for $299 or even lower.

Sony has scheduled a PlayStation event on September 7. The company is expected to unveil two new Sony PlayStation consoles. The PS4 Slim has leaked, but the more powerful Sony PlayStation Neo is still a secret.

Update: Eurogamer released a video of the leaked Sony PS4 booting up, in case you are still believing that the leak is a hoax. It is not. The new Sony PS4 Slim that Sony will unveil on September 7 has leaked in full. It might have been fallen off a delivery truck. Who knows. The current owner bought the first PS4 Slim from an the auction site Gumtree.
