The new special edition is lighter and cooler than ever.

The Lotus Elise 250 which is a special edition car by automaker was revealed recently. The car is specially released in order to celebrate the 50th anniversary of automaker. The car will be available from 47,900 pounds.

This special edition car is based on Lotus Elise 250 Cup model but is a little different from it. It is a lighter model which will only weigh around 899kg.

Its weight is reduced due to the fact that a lot of carbon fiber is used in the car especially in the front splitter and rear wing. The boot front access panel of the car is like that of standard and only 50 of them will be made.

The technology used in Lotus Elise 250 is like that of Elise 250 Cup so mechanically we can say that both of these cars are identical in nature. It has a supercharged 234bhp 1.8liter engine. This car has the ability to top 0-60 in mere 3.9 sec. it is 20 kg lighter than that of Lotus Elise 250 Cup.

It will be available in four colors which are red, yellow, blue and white. The car will be offered in optional carbon fiber roof panel which will be a hardtop as well.

The car will also have the option of having leather seats with contrast stitching on leather according to the car’s color. Other than these silver and black alloys will be available too.

Starting from 47,900 pounds, it is the most expensive Elise offered by Lotus, according to AutoCar. The Lotus Elise 250 Cup’s price is 45,600 pounds. The limited edition will be sold to potential owners in first come first serve basis. So fans will have to hurry up in order to buy one.
