According to The Verge, the car will not just be autonomous but also an emoji showing car. The company Drive.ai is based in Mountain View, California so if you are walking around these streets and see a car winking at you then don’t worry.
Carol Reiley is the co-founder and president of Drive.ai. According to Reiley, her interest in robotics stems from the looking at how technology interacts with humanity.
The aim of making this kind of self-riving car is to make sure robotic cars have the potential to interact with people in a more humane way. They want to see if cars can talk to people like pedestrians, cyclists and fellow drivers around them. Another aim of the autonomous car in works is to deliver a horn free world.
The human interaction aspect of this autonomous car is exactly what appeals to the eye. All previous car makers have only focused on features like the technology of self-driving cars.
This little startup on the other hand is trying to change the way cars are perceived. Drive.ai will use a special method for artificial intelligence called ‘deep learning’ to resolve all technological problems. The cars will learn behaviors on their own instead of following ingrained protocols.
We all know driving does not only involve vocal and seeable signs, but a whole world of instinctual actions. For self-driving cars to be successful they will have to learn all such actions. Since self-driving cars will not have hands and faces so they will have to make do with emojis.
