According to a new certification issued by the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEC), Apple is working on wireless headphones and new Apple Watches. We weren’t surprised to see the certificates for the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus given their September 7th release.
Don't Miss: MWC 2017 Highlights
Countries part of the EAEC treaty which include Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Armenia all receive EAEC certificates, which all for the products mentioned in the certificates to be sold within these countries.
So the appearance of wireless headphones as well new Apple Watches lead us to believe that these products will eventually be available for sale, if not now. The Russian site iPhones.ru discovered a reference to “AirPods” within these new EAEC certificates and with Apple ditching the 3.55 mm headphone jack, we don’t find it surprising.
We are still uncertain as to whether these AirPods will ship with the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus within their boxes but there mere existence solidifies the fact that we will no longer be seeing the headphone jack in our iPhones from now on.
Apple filed for trademark on the AirPods back in October and even though Apple is notorious for filing trademarks on any new concept it thinks of we have clearly enough evidence to suggest that these AirPods might actually see the light of the day.
The new Apple Watch has been expected for quite a while as it is time it got a hardware update so we aren’t surprised to see that included in the certificates either. We don’t have long to wait to see if these AirPods actually do exist as September 7th is right around the corner.
Along with the new iPhone lineup, Apple is expected to release the new Apple Watch as well.
