Google Analytics Real-time Traffic Reporting Down

The Google Analytics traffic reporting has issues more than 24 hours.

The Google Analytics traffic reporting is not working properly since over 24 hours. Specifically the Realtime Traffic reporting in Google Analytics is down. Users get the error message: "Resource is not available. Please try again later. One or more of the services on which we depend is unavailable. Please try again later after the service has had a chance to recover."

Google is aware of the problem and tweeted 8 hours ago: "Some users may be experiencing issues with real time reporting. We are working on a fix and expect to have everything back to normal soon."

The real time reporting feature is still down for me. Tee definition in my book for "soon" is a lot less than 8 hours.

Update: It was briefly working again and now it stopped again.

It is not clear how wide-spread the issue is, but it is substantial based on user comments in forums. Google ironically lists Google Analytics as online in the App Status Dashboard. If a major feature like Real-time reporting is down, the service should be at least be marked as partially down.
