The upcoming 2018 Mercedes Benz SL will be AMG Engineered.

The Mercedes Convertible SL is going to show up in market in 2018. The company is doing all that they can in order to make this car a prominent one among other rivals.

The car is supposed to be the new eighth-generation car by the company. The car was spotted being tested in Nurburgring but it was heavily modified in the form of an S class coupe.

It is said that its development is recently handed to the AMG department so we are actually looking at an SL that will be built on AMG technology, according to AutoCar. It is also being said that this new SL will have more sporty characteristics.

One of our insiders in Mercedes Benz confirmed the news that this car is being built by AMG department but the news is being kept under the covers.

We are looking towards a new platform structure that will make it unique from the other cars in AMG line up. This new platform will use scale-able racks and wheel base, something that is being used in E class cars.

We have also been told that Mercedes Benz is all set to ditch the aluminum roof of SL. The new model will for the first time after 2001 showcase a multi-layer fabric hood. This hood will be foldable and it will be similar in construction to S-class cabriolet.

The new 2018 Mercedes Benz SL is supposed to get a horsepower of 365bhp. It will also have an added turbocharged 3.0 liter inline six cylinder petrol unit. We have also been told that 435bhp will be used in the SL 400 version too.

Above these all SL 500 will feature AMG 4.0 liter engine which will be V8 and will showcase a horsepower of 455bhp.
