That might be his goal for this upcoming project that he discussed with Jimmy at The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon when Jimmy whipped out a photo of Mark and LeBron James.
LeBron has of course retired most recently from the NBA and he has since been working on his screen image. He co-starred in the Amy Schumer comedy Trainwreck in 2015.
He had already endorsed Ghostbusters, he is set to star in Space Jam 2 directed by Justin Lin so is it that project that he will be doing with Wahlberg?
According to Wahlberg, it is a completely different project initially named Ballers which is about fantasy basketball leagues. Their characters will be heading out to one of these fantasy camps in the movie.
Initially Kevin Hart was associated with the project as Mark revealed. He is however no more but LeBron is and he is committed to the project, according to Variety.
Entourage” creator Doug Ellin has come on board to write the script. Earlier drafts were written by Hart with Chris Spencer, Harry Ratchford, and Joey Wells. Brian Grazer and Michael Rosenberg are producing. It’s unclear whether Wahlberg will produce.
Mark is a two time Oscar nominee and James received positive responses for his comic talent in portraying himself as Bill Hader’s friend in Amy Schumer’s romantic comedy “Trainwreck” last year. Mark’s upcoming movie Lionsgate’s action-adventure “Deepwater Horizon,” will be hitting theatres on September 30th.
The era of the sports movies is coming back and we sure hope that this effort is worth the watch.
