Black iPhone 7 Plus Arrives Early
Black iPhone 7 Plus

Apple found its way again with the iPhone 7. The clean monolithic design is back. The iPhone 7 Plus with dual lens camera has sold out, but deliveries of the coveted iPhone 7 Plus arrive earlier than Apple estimated.

I am at peace again with Apple. The black iPhone 7 Plus, I just received, is how the iPhone 6 should have been designed from the beginning. To my pleasant surprise I received my black iPhone 7 Plus I ordered right at the pre-order launch on the online Apple Store on September 16. Initially Apple told me that I need to wait until September 26 or 27 for delivery.

The friendly UPS guy came around my house already yesterday, September 22. So Apple delivered about a work week earlier than estimated. Current shipping delay on the iPhone 7 Plus are 2 to 3 weeks when you order now online at the Apple Store. The Jet Black iPhone 7 Plus still just ships in November.

Initially I thought I need the Jet Black iPhone 7 Plus, but then decided against it because of reports that the surface scratches and is a fingerprint magnet. Additionally I did not want to spend the extra money as the Jet Black iPhone 7 Plus is not available as 32GB model.

The Black iPhone 7 Plus is more than black enough for my geek mind. The iPhone 7 Plus appears monolithic as it should be. The black from screen blends perfectly into the matt black shell.

I am super excited about the dual lens camera and will put it to the real world test this weekend reporting from the big Startup Festival Bits & Pretzels in Munich. Kevin Spacey and Sir Richard Branson are part of the speaker line-up.

Just in time Apple has released the iOS Portrait mode feature in the latest public beta of iOS 10.1. This feature allows to take photos that look like snapped with a DSLR camera. The background is blurred with the main object or person in the foreground in focus.
