Tesla will unveil something on October 17.
There will be a new product from Tesla on October 17. Elon Musk just announced the Tesla event on Twitter. There are no further details on what Tesla will unveil on October 17. Musk says that the event is unexpected by most. It is likely not the 2nd presentation of the Tesla Model 3. We expect the Model 3 event to be closer to end of the year.

The Tesla product event could be about Autopilot, which continues to be a hot button issue. Every time a Tesla is involved in a crash, Autopilot is under scrutiny. This happened last week again when a Tesla crashed with a bus in Germany. There is no conclusion yet what really happened and if Autopilot is to blame. The latest is that the bus has likely side swiped the Tesla Model S.
Tesla is working on a hardware extension of Autopilot. It is possibly that the company is ready to show that off on October 17.
Other possibilities include the Model Y, a smaller SUV, a Tesla electric bike and a new home charging solution.
October 17 falls on a Monday. At this point we do not know if Tesla will live stream the October 17 product event.
Another event will be on October 28. Tesla and Solar City will unveil a home solar roof solution. Elon Musk clarified today also that Tesla/SolarCity will not need to raise equity or corp debt in Q4.
Elon Musk made recently more headlines with SpaceX. Now his attention is apparently back at his electric car company.
Tesla product unveiling on the 17th (unexpected by most), followed by Tesla/SolarCity on the 28th— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) October 9, 2016
Would also like to correct expectations that Tesla/SolarCity will need to raise equity or corp debt in Q4. Won't be necessary for either.— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) October 9, 2016
