We've been so hunger starved for information about the upcoming Nintendo NX console that our imaginations are starting to get the better of us. Still, there are a lot of people out there that are taking advantage of our desperation, pushing out fake rumors and images that are solely meant to confuse us.
The latest NX rumor is just an example of what those people are doing.
A photo of the supposed final name - which isn't, by many accounts, going to be the Nintendo NX - was revealed online this week. It was thought to be a photo from a "software partner briefing" that Nintendo had.
The photo looked like it was taken with a phone and the bottom was blurred out. Of course, no one knew why, but in some ways it added to the validity of the posting. The top of the invitation has the name "Nintendo Duo" on it, which in some ways could make sense as the name. The console is said to have two parts a traditional console and a hand-held element.
A litany of forums and message boards picked up the photo, and they, of course, got to myth busting. Of course, it took only a few hours and the creator of the manip came forward on Twitter.
Any information about the Nintendo NX (which you can see compiled here) has been scant and not completely true either - almost everything we know is guesswork. Still, it has been confirmed that fans will not have to wait until 2017 to get information about the Nintendo NX - so leaks should come any day now if there are going to be any.
Be patient, the reveal is coming and if everything we know is true, it will be well worth the wait.
