Pokemon: The First Movie Returns to Cinemas

The first Pokemon movie will be on the big screen for a limited time. Tickets are on sale now.

Pokemon fans can watch the first original Pokemon movie at select Cinemark theaters for a limited time.

The first Pokemon movie, released will be shown at over 200 Cinemark theaters on Saturday, October 29, and Tuesday, November 1. Pokemon: The First Movie stars Ash and Pikachu as they face off against the Legendary Pokemon Mewtwo. The classic short “Pikachu's Vacation” will also be featured, delivering even more Pokémon fun to viewers.

Tickets for this classic Pokemon movie event will cost only $5. Presale tickets are available now at the Cinepark site for both the October 29 matinee shows and the November 1 evening shows.

Pokemon: The First Moivie was released in Japan on July 18, 1998. The English-language adaptation was released in North America on November 10, 1999. It generated $160m at the box office.

The first Pokemon movie primarily consists of three segments: Pikachu's Vacation, a 21-minute feature focusing on the series mascot Pikachu; Origin of Mewtwo, a 10-minute featurette that functions as a prologue to the main feature; and Mewtwo Strikes Back, the main 75 minute film feature.
