  • Apple Backs Away from “Project Titan”: No longer will be making cars

Apple car project to go in a new direction in the year 2017

Apple had announced the “Project Titan” with loads of valor and enthusiasm few years back. The company had plans to launch its own self-driving technology and a self-driving car.

However it looks like the company has back paddled from the plan and it turning towards a new direction with the project. We have been told that Apple will no longer take part actively in making its own self-driving car.

The car which was supposed to be revealed somewhere near 2020 will no longer be on the charts any time soon.

According to Bloomberg, hundreds of people working on the Project Titan will lose their jobs. Many of them have already left and the others remaining will face cut down shortly.

The remaining staff on the Project Titan have been given a deadline by board in order to prove the practicality of self-driving technology, otherwise it will be closed for good.

The company however on the other hand have been reported to hire new people as well. They are hiring new people in order to work on the Project Titan in the current status and new track.

According to news, Project Titan was supposed to reveal its first final development by 2020 but due to leadership failure the project was not able to give what was needed from it. The project leader Steve Zadesky of Titan also left the company and his position earlier this year.

According to Bloomberg, after much pondering and meetings, it was decided by company that Apple should not get in competition with Tesla as they already have so many electric car models in the market.

The company is also working towards self-driving cars. In the past few months over 150 Software engineers and hundreds of IT experts have left the Apple.
