The mysterious Tesla product announcement is supposed to be today on Wednesday, October 19. Here is what we know.

Elon Musk postponed a Tesla product announcement he set for Monday to Wednesday, October 19. The Tesla October 19 event is still wrapped in mystery. There is still no official announcement from Tesla that there is an event today.

Update: Tesla announced that all Tesla cars including Model 3 include autopilot hardware. This was one of the rumored things Tesla was predicted to announce.

Elon Musk has also not provided any details on when the October 19 Tesla event will take place and what it is about. Speculations range from Model Y SUV, Model 3 party 2, new hardware for autopilot (Autopilot 2.0), Tesla motor cycle, Tesla truck, super charger network for other electric car brands, Tesla Glass and more. The latter is a secret project at Tesla that might be some kind of head up display. Another theory is that Elon Musk will announce Autopilot option for Model 3.

On Monday Tesla announced to partner with Panasonic on producing photovoltaic cells. This partnership is already based on the merger of Tesla with SolarCity. The announcement today could also be something with solar cells and cars. There will be separate SolarCity product event on October 28 to announce a home solution.

Elon Musk announces that the Tesla October 19 announcement will be made at 5pm PDT. It is not an event apparently. The announcement will be followed by a 30 minute Q&A with the media.

We will update this post as soon there are new details available about the Tesla October 19 event. In the meantime read the story how Autopilot 8.0 avoided an accident by detecting that the second car ahead is breaking. There is also a video of a test of that magic feature in the story.
