32 GB iPhone 7 Reportedly Has Slower Storage

The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are now actually a month old and the general perception is that it has been well received among the masses. We have seen minor issues here and there but none were strong enough to give over blown dramas like we have seen in the past with other Apple flagship releases.

That is actually good news but it certainly doesn’t mean something isn’t around the corner. This new Report is a perfect example. The Report is still in its early days but it has the potential to create a great impact if third party tests confirm the stated theory. The theory is that 32 GB iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus makes usage of storage which is very slow to write data than other variants.

Now based on the results from synthetic and real world tests it would be evident that Apple is using storage which is less speedy than the storage in probably the 128GB models. The synthetic bench marks were the first to report this issue but a real-world test actually illustrates the issue better. The results of the real world test when tied up with the synthetic results showed a very interesting story.

The hardware used for testing the 32GB iPhone 7 Plus gave a horrible performance when compared to 64GB and 128 GB of Apple’s previous flagship phones. This can be seen in the PassMark write speed. However it may be possible that there is more at play here and in reality storage has nothing to do with the results obtained. Nevertheless such a difference does call for questioning. Is it true that the 32GB iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are slower than their brethren? This question is yet to be answered after more testing.
