With Halloween around the corner, we anticipate Trainers may encounter more Pokémon in the real world. The AR camera is a great way to capture and share these encounters with your friends

Niantic posted on Facebook about Pokemon Go and Halloween. Many Pokemon Go fans wish there would be something special happening on Halloween in Pokemon Go.

Update 10/24: Niantic announced a Pokemon Go Halloween event. It is real and a whole week long.

Pokemon wearing costumes or new scary Pokemon spawning on Halloween are some ideas floating on social media. Niantic has fueled the hope for something special on Halloween on their Facebook: "With Halloween around the corner, we anticipate Trainers may encounter more Pokemon in the real world. The AR camera is a great way to capture and share these encounters with your friends."

Most trainers do not use the augmented reality mode of Pokemon Go as it drains the smartphone battery rapidly. Niantic's post could mean nothing and all for Halloween. There are still 10 days until the trick-or-treating is taking place. Enough time for Niantic to prepare something for Halloween. The company just recently triggered the 5th nest migration, it would be easy for them to increase spawn locations of rare Pokemon on Halloween, October 31.

On Halloween already many people are outside. Mirroring Halloween in augmented reality would make sense for Niantic Labs.

Fun fact: There is a city called Niantic in Connecticut. The city is in the news right now because of Halloween. The Niantic Halloween parade has been canceled by an elementary school. Reasons for the ban are safety and exclusions concerns of students.
