Google Pixel Teardown Reveals Inner Beauty

The Google Pixel Phone is well designed inside reveals teardown.

The Pixel and Pixel XL are the first phones designed entirely by Google from the ground up and they received already a lot of praise. The Pixel XL is the latest subject to a teardown by the experts at iFixit.

The Pixel XL’s 13.28 Wh battery beats out the 11.1Wh iPhone 7 Plus, but not the Galaxy S7 Edge’s 13.86Wh powerhouse (or the Samsung Note7’s 13.48Wh).

iFixit broke the Pixel XL phone when removing the screen. Due to its mostly modular design (once you get past that pesky display), the Google Pixel XL nabbed a 6/10 on the iFixit repairability scale. Not stellar, but still better than an HTC, which is ironic, considering that HTC actually builds the Pixel phone.

You can see the full Pixel XL teardown here. The Google Pixel Phones are on sale since October 20. You can buy the Pixel or Pixel XL at or at and carriers.

Best Buy offers a $100 Best Buy Gift Card and Google Chromecast for free with the purchase of a Pixel phone and activation on AT&T or Verizon.

The Pixel phones are the first Android smartphones that come with the Google Assistant. Another highlight is the Pixel camera, which got the highest rated smartphone camera anyone has ever made. The Pixel DxOMark Mobile score is 89. There is though no DxOMark score yet for the iPhone 7 Plus Pixel puts cutting-edge computational photography in an ultra-fast and easy-to-use camera.

Pixel has a 12.3MP camera, featuring an f/2.0 aperture and big 1.55 micron pixels to capture lots and lots of light.
