  • Nissan Purchases a Big Portion of Mitsubishi Motors

Carlos Ghosn is going to be the new Chairman of Mitsubishi after this purchase

Nissan had announced in May that it will be purchasing a big portion of Mitsubishi Motor’s shares. Now it is official that they have purchased a 34 percent stake in Mitsubishi.

According to the Wall Street Journal the deal between these companies was finalized in $2.3 billion for Nissan to buy these shares. This deal has bought Mitsubishi in the Nissan-Renault Alliance that is off to make some exciting new vehicles.

The company has explained that they will offer share vehicle platforms, new technology, joint purchasing and manufacturing on shared bases after this deal. Nissan also explained that this deal will make the company one of the three largest companies with volume all over the world.

Nissan also explained that after this partnership, Mitsubishi has become a partner in the current Alliance of Renault. Along with that this new reform, Carlos Ghosn who is already the CEO of Nissan and Renault has also been nominated for Mitsubishi.

So we will be seeing him as the CEO of company in short. The current chief of Mitsubishi, Osamu Masuko will remain in his position but Ghosn will join him as a co-chief of company.

The deal will certainly lead the customers see a new look in Mitsubishi motors. The US citizens might now find new touches of Nissan motors in the upcoming Mitsubishi vehicles.

This will also lead the Mitsubishi motors to finally work on some cool projects which are pending from the past many months. We can also hope to see some joint ventures from Nissan and Mitsubishi in the future too.
