Tesla will roll out ride services programs for people

Tesla Motors is planning these days to introduce a ride services program for citizens. They are planning to launch a program like that of Uber. The details of this service will be announced by company next year officially in an event.

The announcement about the plan was outlined on Tesla Motors official website. According to this news, the SEO of Tesla Elon Musk had announce this plan in June in a meeting.

Tesla is still working on the software that will make their cars fully autonomous. He said on Wednesday that the company is working on new models with new and essential hardware. These vehicles will eventually gain full autonomy. However the work on this autonomous software is still being done.

The disclaimer on Tesla’s official website stated, "Please note that using a self-driving Tesla for car-sharing and ride-hailing for friends and family is fine, but doing so for revenue purposes will only be permissible on the Tesla Network, details of which will be released next year."

Tesla hasn’t released any more details on the issue. Many car makers have invested in mobility industry by proposing systems like that of ride sharing and cab hailing.

However Uber is still on top in the system of cab services all over the world. Uber is also working on its own self driving vehicles and ride sharing vehicles. Thus companies like that of Tesla and others will have to do a lot of work in order to compete with an already established one like that of Uber.

It was analyzed last year by Reuters (via AutomotiveNews) that almost 428 billion investment has been made by different investors and venture capitalists in the ride services sector in the past decade. Thus making it a really profitable venture.
