No New iMac and 5K Display at October 27 Apple Event Says KGI Analyst

The Apple event this week is just about MacoBook and MacBook Pro says Apple analyst.

Apple is holding a media event on October 27. The invite says "hello again." According to Apple analyst at KGI we will not say hello again to a new iMac and also not to a 5K Display.

Ming-Chi Kuo says in the research note seen by 9to5Mac that Apple will unveil a new MacBook and MacBook Pro on October 27. Specifically Apple will introduce new 13 inch MacBook, a new 13 inch MacBook Pro and a new 15 inch MacBook Pro.

The new Retina MacBook Pro is expected to include Touch ID and an OLED function key row above the keyboard besides new faster hardware. This is the only exciting new product from Apple. The new iMac and the 5K external display is supposed to be released in 2017.

Let's hope Apple has one more thing for the Apple event on October 27. Just some new laptops is not really cutting it for a fall event. As said earlier this week a new high-performance 30-inch iMac would be just what I would need.

Besides the iMac, there are other Apple products that are could get an update including the Apple TV, Mac Pro, Mac mini the iPad line. There is always a chance that Apple is introducing something new, but there is nothing really in the rumor mill.

The Apple event takes place at 10am PDT on October 27 at the Apple Campus. Apple is streaming the media event live online on Apple.com.
