It's AT&T Monday

The AT&T acquisition of Time Warner is dominating Monday morning, ahead of markets open.

AT&T (NYSE:T) announced to buy Time Warner (NYSE:TWX) for $85.4 billion on the weekend. The companies  will host a webcast presentation on Monday, October 24 at 8:30am ET to discuss AT&T’s acquisition of Time Warner.

Even competitor T-Mobile has accepted that today is AT&T day and postponed its earnings call to 10am ET to give the AT&T webcast some space.

AT&T will have an easier time to make investors believe in this deal than with politicians. Even business tycoon and Presidential candidate Donald Trump is against the deal. He says that that it's too much concentration of power in the hands of too few.

The carrier led by CEO Randall Stephenson has a lot of experience when it comes to US regulatory oversight and having the government intervene in deal. The US government blocked AT&T's planned acquisition of T-Mobile in 2011. Stephenson is confident that the Time Warner deal is not getting blocked. He believes the combination of content provider and a distributor does not increase industry concentration.

A link to the AT&T and Time Warner webcast will be available in the investor sections on the AT&T site.
