The Black Friday 2016 shapes up to be a deja vu of last year.

The Black Friday 2016 is a month away, but already shapes up to be a copy of last year. The same controversies about the big sales day are back again. Outdoor retailer REI is back with their message to forget about Black Friday and enjoy nature. There is no REI Black Friday 2016 sale again. Last year the retailer made a big splash with the decision to cancel Black Friday and send its 12,000 employees home on a paid leave.

The number of stores that keep its retail locations closed on Thanksgiving Day has grown this year. Several malls are now part of the movement of keeping stores closed on Thanksgiving Day and only offer Black Friday deals on the actual Black Friday, November 25.

Macy's has already come forward to open its stores again on Thanksgiving Day. The Macy's Black Friday 2016 sale begins one hour earlier than last year at 5pm. The department store chain will be joined by many of the big retailers that will not shut down the Black Friday on Thanksgiving Day.

Announcements of the Black Friday 2016 plans from Walmart, Target, Best Buy, Sears, Kmart and others are expected to be announced over the next days. Sam's Club already announced its Black Friday 2016 schedule last year. Walmart usually is just a couple days behind.

You have the choice again this year to just ignore Black Friday, shop Black Friday online on Thanksgiving Day, get doorbuster deals on Thanksgiving Day at large stores that have open or just shop Black Friday on the actual Black Friday, November 25.

The online Black Friday sales offer now most of the best doorbuster deals. You do not need to go to a shop on Thanksgiving Day to get most of these deals.
