Xiaomi Mi MIX Edge-to-Edge Ceramic Phone Teaches Apple And Samsung

Xiaomi just unveiled a Mi MIX.

The Xiaomi Mi MIX looks like a concept phone for the year 2020, but it is going on sale on November 4 in China for about $500. The Mi MIX has a edge-to-edge screen with over 91% screen to bezel ratio. The result looks stunning. This is how an iPhone 8 should look. Xiaomi partnered with famous designer Philippe Starck on the Mi MIX design.

The Mi MIX has a huge 6.4-inch 17:9 inch display.

The body of the Mi MIX is made from ceramic. The front sensors have been replaced by other solutions to detect proximity. The sound for calls is transmitted by cantilever piezoelectric ceramic acoustic technology replaces the traditional earpiece speaker. The Mi MIX still has a selfie camera. It is located at the bottom, where the last remaining bezel area exists.

The Mi Mix runs on the Snapdragon 821. Other specifications include 4GB RAM, 128GB storage,16MP camera, HD audio quality, 192kHz / 24-bit resolution and 4,400mAh battery. There is also a luxury version with 18-karat gold accents.

Below is a hands-on video of the Mi MIX from the unveil event today. Earlier today we reported about the Protruly VR Phone that is capturing 360 VR video. Is China about to leap the US and South Korea in smartphone innovation?
