Reports from Pokemon Go trainers indicate that Niantic has dramatically increased spawn rates of Halloween Pokemon.

The FastPokeMap Pokemon scanner shows how high the spawn rates of the Halloween Pokemon are in the first hours of the Pokemon Go Halloween event. The map above shows only the 10 Halloween Pokemon spawning in New York near Time Square. New York is always packed with Pokemon, but this crowd of Pokemon is just made up of 10 types.

This FastPokeMap generated Pokemon Scan shows all Pokemon spawning at Time Square. You can still see the dominance of the Halloween Pokemon. Niantic has added three more Pokemon to the announced list of "spooky" Pokemon. The complete list of Halloween Pokemon so far include Cubone, Drowzee, Haunter, Hypno, Gastly, Gengar, Golbat, Marowak, Meowth and Zubat.

A test in my local area, which can be considered somewhat rural as there are often not a single Pokemon, the number of spotted Halloween Pokemon is 5.

Update: FastPokeMap shuts down again until the weekend as Niantic made changes.

The response to the Pokemon Go Halloween event has been very positive so far as spawn rates are excessive. Some trainer report to have caught over a dozen of a single kind of Halloween Pokemon within 30 minutes. Mind you that the Halloween Pokemon spawns are not nest.

Besides the huge number of Pokemon, Niantic allows trainers to collect much more candy with less effort during the Halloween week. The Halloween Candy earning options are detailed in our Pokemon Go Halloween Guide.

The FastPokeMap real-time Pokemon tracker is working again since Sunday. The service is not back yet to the scan quality as it has been before Niantic activated the new security measures back on October 7. It is though already usable.

The developer behind FastPokeMap is working on improving the service to bring it back to the quality it once had. Breaking through the new security took a lot of effort and that new encryption is not the only thing to worry about. There is also the issue of Captcha and the change in allowed travel speed to see Pokemon spawns.
