Apple October 27 Event: Time, Video Stream and What to Expect

The Apple MacBook Event is here.

Yesterday it was Microsoft's turn to shine and they did delivered. Apple will have a hard time to unveil something more impressive. Microsoft unveiled a new desktop computing experience with the Surface Studio and embraces 3D and Virtual reality with Windows 10 Creators Update. Microsoft will also launched $299 VR headsets with the new Windows 10.

Apple has nothing comparable planned. At least based on the rumors leading up the October 27 event. The rumored MacBook Pro with OLED keyboard strip is not going to be enough to impress. There is hope that Apple has a surprise announcement today.

The Apple October 27 event will be streamed live online on apple.com. The event begins at 10am PDT, 1pm ET, and 7pm CET. As always you can watch the event also on the Apple TV.

Today's Live stream uses Apple’s HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) technology. HLS requires an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with Safari on iOS 7.0 or later, a Mac with Safari 6.0.5 or later on OS X v10.8.5 or later, or a PC with Microsoft Edge on Windows 10. Streaming via Apple TV requires an Apple TV (2nd or 3rd generation) with software 6.2 or later or an Apple TV (4th generation).

Apple lucked out with the iPhone 7. Samsung's problems with the exploding Note 7, makes the iPhone 7 the go to flagship smartphone this fall. Besides the iPhone 7 there is nothing really hot from Apple for the Holiday Shopping season yet. The Apple Watch 2 will do well as "safe" Holiday gadget gift, but it is not a must. The Cupertino electronics giant needs to light a fire of excitement for its products today, ahead of the crucial Holiday sales season.
