Justin Timberlake and Jimmy Fallon Take Their Friendship to Camp Days

Justin Timberlake and Jimmy Fallon act and sing in new sketch on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon featuring their camp days.

There is no one like the friend that could remind you of all the good days of the past. Mainly because many of those good days were spent with those friends. Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake have shown us why the two celebrities claim to be best friends. They have performed a variety of times on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and other platforms with exceptional chemistry and sync.

Their latest stint on the show was from their camping days. In a sketch where both are at Winnipesaukee Camp in 1996, we saw them in wigs, braces and the camp’s yellow uniforms. Trying to go to sleep, Jimmy turns on a flashlight and in a squeaky voice asks Justin if he’s awake. Justin, wearing a blonde curly wig resembling his hair back in the day, also turns on a flashlight.

He tells him he’s not asleep and Jimmy says he’s not as well. Jimmy asks Justin if he knows what he’s going to be for Halloween. Justin says he does but he doesn’t understand why they are in summer camp in the middle of October. Jimmy, fighting back laughter, say he doesn’t know. He then ask him to guess his costume.

Justin gives him a hint that it’s a TV character. Jimmy’s first answer is Steve Urkle but Justin says no. Jimmy guesses again and says Zack Morris. Justin says no again. Jimmy makes a wild guess and says Blossoms and Justin says “Yay!” So it’s Blossoms from the Powerpuff Girls. Jimmy says nice and they give each other an air-five.

Jimmy says that he got an idea. He asks Justin if he’d like to sing a song they had heard on the radio earlier. Justin asks if he means “Ironic” by Alanis Morissette? Jimmy says he loves that song but they have to keep their voices down because it was lights out time.

Justin starts to sing the song in a high pitched voice, “An old man turned ninety-eight” Jimmy continues, “He won the lottery and died the next day. Justin sings, “It's a black fly in your Chardonnay” dramatically and Jimmy gives the next lyric, It's a death row pardon two minutes too late” while trying to keep from laughing out.

They share the last lyric” And isn't it ironic... don't you think” before breaking into chorus, “It's like rain on your wedding day/It's a free ride when you've already paid/It's the good advice that you just didn't take/Who would've thought... it figures” but not before their camp counsellor Mr. Fletcher turns up, blowing his whistle.

He asks what the racket is and Jimmy tells him that they were just singing a song. He tells them to try and sing a bed. It doesn’t make sense to both the “boys”. They ask him what it means and he tells them that they’ll figure it out. It was after lights out which meant that both of them potato-heads should be asleep or they would lose their snack shack privileges and tomorrow is Candy Day.

He tells them that he’s heard a rumor that there was going to be everything from Milk Duds to Naco Wafers. Justin says that he’s intrigued. He tells Mr. Fletcher that they will go to bed. The camp counselor wishes them good night.

Jimmy tries to say his next line but Justin cracks up in, hiding his face in his flashlight. Jimmy says that Mr. Fletcher is so weird. He reckons that Fletcher doesn’t even like candy. Justin adds that he bets that the counselor's favorite candy is Nerds. When Jimmy asks why, Justin says, you are what you eat. They try to go to sleep again but they start singing the song again.

They start to sing out the chorus again and Mr. Fletcher returns. This time shouting, “For Pete’s sake, I thought I told you two Party Peanuts to go to bed and they both laugh at his accent. He says that they made him so mad that he had misspelled and misspoke the words. Jimmy tells him that they can’t fall asleep which results in evocation of their Snack Shack privileges.

That meant no Milk Duds or Naco Wafers and certainly no other sweet treats. Jimmy asks him what about having s’mores and tootsie rolls? Fletcher asks what about them. Justin says if he hikes his shorts up anymore, they’ll see s’more of his tootsie roll. They both point their light at his crotch.

He tells them that that is enough while Justin takes out a water gun and starts squirting it at his crotch. Jimmy asks him why he’s peed his pants while doing the same as Justin. They both make fun of his wetting shorts. He tells them enough again and his crotch was wet. He tells them good night again and tells them to go to bed.

Going to bed, Jimmy calls Fletcher a lame-wad. They say good night and just before going to sleep they pledge to be best friends forever. That was not all because they both get out of bed, pointing the flashlights on their faces as they dance and sing the chorus of Ironic and Mr. Fletcher comes in again yelling “Fallon! Timberlake!” and they both say sorry.

It was funny and cute but a little weird with both the participants looking somewhat ridiculous. It was however a sweet reminder of friendship and light hearted.
