Pokemon Go Halloween Event Made Pokemon Go Top Grossing App Again

So trainers just wanted more Pokemon to rekindle their spending. Good to know for Niantic.

Pokemon Go has been almost dropping out of the top 10 grossing apps on iTunes. The Pokemon Go Halloween event just came at the right time and did wonders. The Pokemon Go app is again the number 1 top grossing app on the US iTunes store. All it took was for Niantic to spawn more Pokemon and make it easier to get candy. That is a simple enough business model to go forward.

Get ready for a Pokemon Go Thanksgiving Event, a Pokemon Go Christmas Event, a Pokemon Go New Year's event and a Pokemon Go Easter event. The latter will be off the charts. The little Halloween event also shows what a real world Pokemon Go event with a release of mythical Pokemon would have as impact.

Trainers are spending money on lures, Poke Balls and incubators to make as much out of the Halloween week as possible. This renewed enthusiasm has driven up Niantic's daily revenues from Pokemon Go.

A lot of trainers have been vocal on social media about the lack of new features in Pokemon Go. The Halloween Event has pushed that criticism to the sidelines, at least until the event is over on November 1. Niantic has not yet released the full feature set of Pokemon Go as shown in the release trailer in July. The biggest pain point is the missing Pokemon tracker.

There is now again a 3rd party real-time Pokemon Go tracker working. FastPokemap is tracking Pokemon on and off since Sunday. Niantic is working actively to block it. FastPokeMap was supposed to shut down during improvements, but the developer kept it alive and scanning is kind of working at the time of writing this story. Read the latest about the FastPokeMap status.
