Exclusive: iPhone 8 Will Be Available In Three Sizes, All With Glass Backs

iPhone 8 will get three screen sizes along with a redesigned glass back

The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are now available in the market. Therefore we can expect more rumors, leaks and assumptions regarding the iPhone 8. These rumors might even be more than usual because 2017 will also be the tenth anniversary for Apple iPhones.

Many fans are looking forward to this event and are hoping the company will be planning something special. One thing which is clear for sure is that the current design of the iPhone which debuted about 6 years ago will be no more.

The coming year will give us a fully redesigned Apple iPhone. Today, a new Report by Nikkei has surfaced which has re-confirmed this claim. According to a unnamed source the iPhone 8 will be having a glass back. It will forgo its aluminum rear.

The backs will be supplied by China’s Biel Crystal Manufactory and Lens Technology. A metal frame will hold the glass back and front. The exact material to be used in this metal frame has not been revealed. However, we assume it will be either aluminum or stainless steel.

The major news, however, is that we will be seeing three iPhone 8 sizes instead of two. Currently we have a classic 4.7’’ and 5.5’’ version. Complementing these will be a 5 inch iPhone 8. The report also claims that most of the innards will be shared among the new iPhones.

The 5.5 inch iPhone 8 will also sport a dual-curved Super AMOLED touch screen manufactured by Samsung. The other two iPhone sizes will have LTPS LCD panels just like the iPhone 7 models. The iPhone 8 will also be available with wireless charging support. This addition has been possible due to the glass back.
