Cyber Monday 2016 Predicted as Biggest Online Shopping Day wiht $3.36 billion

Adobe released sales forecast for the Holiday Shopping Season 2016.

The online sale volume on Thanksgiving Day will grow by 15.6 percent compared to last year to $2 billion. Black Friday will grow 11.3% to $3.05 billion, keeping Thanksgiving Day in check. The overall biggest online shopping day is though Cyber Monday 2016 according to Adobe's machine learning predictions.

The Cyber Monday 2016 is forecasted to be the biggest online sales day of all time with $3.36 billion in sales, growing 9.4 percent over last year. The complete Holiday season is will grow 11% to a total of $91.6 billion. This just online sales and not in stores.

Despite slower growth in mobile visits, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas will be the biggest mobile retail days of the year (59 percent and 66 percent respectively). Cyber Monday will see 49 percent in mobile visits with the largest increase (ten percent).

Adobe's analytics foresees VR devices (Oculus, PlayStation VR and HTC Vive), Pokémon, Barbie, Lego, Hot Wheels and Frozen toys, as well as Google Home and Amazon Echo as the hottest Holiday gifts. The announcement of the Microsoft VR headset will reduce the demand for the Oculus and HTC Vive, unless there will be deep discounts. The Microsoft VR headsets cost half the price in Spring and have inside-out sensors.
