The next generation EQ by Mercedes-Benz is coming to reality. Mercedes-Benz aims to have over ten all-electric vehicles in its portfolio by 2025.

The Mercedes-Benz electric vehicles will be prepared by company in Bremen. The production of EV series is going to start with EQ concept which was offered a few months earlier.

Mercedes is all set to build a lot more than just an EV in Germany from now on. The company will focus on a range of intelligent drive technologies to go with the latest technology market that is growing day by day.

The company is aiming to start the mass production and release of its first full electric vehicle by year 2020. Along with that Mercedes-Benz is all ready to roll out at least ten new models of EVs by the year 2025. These cars will be built in the various plants of company all around the world.

“It is an enormous sign of trust and a genuine reward for our site that the first EQ vehicle will be built in Bremen,” says Peter Theurer, Site Manager of the Mercedes-Benz Bremen plant.

“As lead plant for the C-Class and the GLC, we have repeatedly proved our ramp-up competence, our flexibility and our technical know-how. Now, we take a further crucial step towards future mobility and expand our variety also when it comes to drive technologies.“

It is assumed that Bremen production decision is supposed to make a cut down on the cost of making the EV. The spending cost will surely be less if the SUV is developed there. Mercedes over cooperate strategy for suture is named CASE which is the acronym of “Connected, Autonomous, Shared & Services and Electric Drive”.

According to the Daimler CEO, Zetsche, the Electric cars will make up to almost 15 to 25 percent of the total sales by company by the year 2025. This shows Mercedes-Benz’s interest in developing the EV technology and introducing it in the market. They will also increase the EV sales in Asia starting from China.

The Bremen plant of Mercedes-Benz is currently known for building vehicles that work on the combustion engines and hybrid module. This is the first time that an EV will be built over there. Along with EQ, Mercedes-Benz will also build plug in hybrid and hydrogen fuel cell GLC F-Cell over there.

“Our team is proud and happy about the decision to produce the first EQ vehicle in Bremen. The greatest future prospects in the industry currently lie in electromobility and it is our ultimate goal that the Bremen site participates in this. We understand the company`s decision as gratitude and appreciation for the great performance of our colleagues over the past years“, states Michael Peters, Chairman of the Works Council Mercedes-Benz Bremen plant.
