  • ACURA will showcase its NSX GT3 Race Car at SEMA

The company is looking to provide a vehicle that is an epitome of performance and speed.

The SEMA is just about to start and many companies have various wild vehicles up their sleeves. It looks like Acura is going to do something excellent in the show as well. We are hoping to see a super duper NSX GT3 presented by Acura which is actually a luxury brand of Honda.

The NSX GT3 will be a race car that will be performance oriented according to the company. The SEMA is every year filled with concept cars that just look like racing cars, however Acura has decided to actually bring a race car to the event.

Along with this Acura is supposed to announce the driver lineups for the 2017 Pirelli World Challenge and IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship at SEMA too.

These two are the most famous and main racing car venues in North America. Acura will be continuing its partnership with Real Time Racing for these events. These two currently work with Acura TLX sedans in all the racing series.

"SEMA is an opportunity to have some fun with customization concepts, and our approach this year is to showcase Acura's performance direction by literally connecting our GT3 racing program to our production models," said Jon Ikeda, vice president and general manager of Acura.

The NSX GT3 Racing Car is a modified version of NSX road car. The car has been given customized body shape and aerodynamics to make it a performance oriented and fast car.

It will use a 3.5 liter V6 engine which is originally used in NSX as well. However it will be modified to offer a six speed sequential transmission with a rear wheel drive. The original model offers a 9 transmission drive and a hybrid all-wheel drive system.

"We spent hours in CAD design creating a rolling, themed stage for the NSX GT3 race car," said Shine. "This is a 'next-generation' trailer that is completely custom to the NSX GT3 as well as the MDX."

The company has also customized a 2017 MDX in order to present it at SEMA. The SUV will have the same basic racing features like that of NSX GT3. It will be the first model ever by company which will sport the new design that is based on Precision concept car.

"We wanted to bring out the performance cues in the MDX to not only complement the race car and trailer, but to showcase a completely custom Acura race experience," said Marek. "SEMA is a great forum to push design and creative boundaries and this display evokes Acura's performance direction."
