Mavic Pro Drone Might Not Make it Under Your Christmas Tree

DJI informs customers of Mavic Pro delivery delays.

The DJI Mavic Pro foldable drone has been very well received by reviewers and DJI has been blessed with more demand than expected. The Mavic Pro was supposed to ship mid-October and DJI is shipping the new drone, but in not enough numbers.

DJI has released a statement informing customers that the Mavic Pro orders received before November 3, 2016 are planned to ship within the next seven to eight weeks. You might get lucky to receive your Mavic Pro before Christmas, but don't count on it. Ordering the $999 Mavic Pro now is definitely putting the delivery into 2017.

The DJI Mavic Pro folds down as small as a bottle of water, making it small enough to bring with you everywhere. This is the biggest draw of the Mavic Pro. It is ultra-portable, while still being a professional grade drone. The new OcuSync transmission system offers up to 4.3 miles (7km) of transmission range. Pilots can fly at up to 40mph (64km/h) or for as long as 27-minutes. The camera develivers true 4K, fully stabilized ensures smooth footage.

The Mavic Pro features ActiveTrack, TapFly and other smart features make professional looking video effortless. Obstacle Avoidance combined with sensor redundancy increases flight safety and reliability.

Vision positioning paired with GPS and GLONASS ensures precise positioning indoor and outdoors. The Mavic Pro supports fly by Phone over Wi-Fi for even easier flight.

Chinese DJI is the drone market leader and the Mavic delay is not reflecting well on the company, but Mavic Pro is worth the wait.
