Phil Schiller Explains Why Apple Dropped The SD Card Reader From The New MacBook Pro

Here’s Why 2016 MacBook Pro Has No SD Card Slot.

Do you ever wonder why Apple chose to drop the SD slot in the new MacBook Pro but retained the 3.5mm headphone jack the company gave up in the iPhone 7. Well here is an answer for your lawful query.

We are very sure that the new MacBook Pro will be successful. The machine is innovative and the inclusion of the revolutionary Touch bar is enough to attract customers.

Nevertheless there are some factors such as the removal of the SD slot which cause apprehension. Apple’s Senior Vice President Phill Schiller gave an interview recently and discussed some important details Apple has taken regarding the MacBook Pro 2016.

He pointed out the reason behind the removal of the much loved SD card Slot. He also admits that the new MacBook Pro 2016 has caused some controversy not only for the features it has included but for functionality it has missed out on too.

According to Phill, there are many fast USB card readers and you can use Compactflash as well as SD. Even though more cameras have SD, Apple chose to let go of it as a part of a trade off.

It believes cameras are now moving towards wireless technology so Apple thought to move a step ahead. You can use a physical adapter or go for the wireless option instead. One important question raised by customers is that why has Apple kept the 3.5mm headphone jack which it has passionately removed in the iPhone 7?

Phill replied to this that the MacBook is a ‘pro’ machine. Which means in this notebook the 3.55 headphone jack is not just used for connecting headphones. Pro audio gear such as amps and much more is used to connect with it.

These answers seem to be satisfying. The MacBook Pro 2016 is certainly a spectacular machine and is doing well so far.
