Windows 10 Updates Will Be Very Small To Download Soon

Microsoft has been promising smaller updates for Windows 10 for many years. The company has now decided to test a new Unified Update Platform. This is expected to create visible difference for users.

Bill Karagounis, Windows Program Manager explained the UUP more clearly. According to him the biggest consumer benefit of the Unified Update Platform is that the download size will be decreased immensely on PCs.

This new change will introduce the ‘Windows 10 Creators’ update which is expected to be released in March. Windows insiders on the other hand can get their hands on this technology and may use it in today’s latest build update for mobile devices.

Xbox One devices which are running on Microsoft 10 will not be able to use the UUP as the Microsoft OS updates to consoles which are using different methods. The main benefit for windows users is when they shift from one major update to another.

Microsoft has predicted the download size to decrease by 35 percent. This will be a blessing for those who have a low band-with connection or for people who have internet caps. Microsoft has reported to have updated 400 million windows 10 devices.

The company is currently shipping beta builds to windows insiders every week. This is a great change and will certainly shape up a great path for windows in the future.
