There have been rumors circulating about the Generation 2 Pokemon and the always elusive Ditto since basically the start of the Pokemon Go app. However, now we have new information on both.

The Pokemon Go app v0.45.0 has a new code, according to The Silph Road, that reveals that there are going to be some interesting changes coming soon. Here are some of the change:

Transform Function

There is a quick move that allows you to transform. It appears in the GAME_MASTER file with its own animation sequence and in the APK code itself. This is the only new move added to the game since it was launched.

Over 100 New Pokemon Added

The scale runs from Pokedex #152 (Chikorita) to #251 (Celebi). It doesn't look like they will be available just yet, as there hasn't been data added for all of them. Still the opportunity is there and that makes all the difference.

52 New Pokemon Families

Once again, the families will range from Chikorita to Celebi, including Ho-Oh and Lugia.

Lockout System

There is a bunch of new coding for anti-gym-sniping system. This will make the game more fair for people to play. If you are locked out, you will get a new error message that says you are locked out.

Quests

Each day there are quest codes that will include daily and weekly bonuses according to a multiplier. The hope is obviously that will keep people trying to play.

Ditto

It does seem like Ditto is in the game, but it does not appear as if the recently added transform function is there. Currently, the only move Ditto knows is struggle. It might be true that Ditto will never be able to transform.

Additionally, there is no moveset data assigned to any of the new species. Furthermore, the movies haven't been added to the code either. This means that there will have to be a few changes before the next launch. It could be weeks or even months until we see the fruits of these codes. Still, it is exciting to know that they are there. Niantic is certainly hoping that it will bring people back.
