CES 2017: Sony Will Launch 2 Xperia Smartphones with Full HD 4K Displays
  • Sony will launch 2 new Xperia smartphones at CES 2017

The Sony 2017 Xperia G3112 and G3121 models will reportedly sport 5 to 5.5. Inch 4K full HD screen displays.

A new report claims that Sony is on the verge of launching new Xperia smartphone models. Although Sony did not make much money with the Xperia line the company is still not ready to drop their share in the business.

The news of the new smartphones by Sony were confirmed when they were registered at a Russian regulatory body. The new smartphones are the 2017 models for the Xperia line.

Other reports suggest both devices will either be mid-range or low-end smartphones. The flagship smartphone by the Japanese company will reportedly be named the Xperia G3112 and G3121.

According to Softpedia, the new source claims the smartphones will be launched by Sony at the upcoming CES 2017 in Las Vegas. The claims were made by the Chinese microblogging site Weibo.

One of the smartphones is also rumored to have a 5.0-inch or 5.2-inch display with a quality of full HD (1080p) resolution. The other Xperia will be even bigger with a 5.5-inch display that supports 4K resolution.

The 4k display is not a relatively new feature by Sony since the Xperia Z5 Premium had the same display. Both Sony G3112 and G3121 are also expected to be equipped with 4GB of RAM. More details are expected to emerge in the following months.

Since all the news by far is speculator or leaked experts believe a 4K resolution is not the right choice for smartphones. A 4K resolution would require a lot of energy.

Even the previously launched Z5 Premium did not support 4K resolution all the time, so the phone’s battery life could last. If Sony does decide to make a fully-fledged 4K phones then equipping it with a new long lasting battery will be its biggest challenge.
