New MacBook Pro is facing Thunderbolt 3 connectivity issue

Another day, another problem with the new MacBook Pro.

A general perception is that USB Type-C is the future. It is able to carry out numerous tasks. Be it data transfer, charging, video and audio support or anything else.

The USB Type C is certainly something to look out for. That is why Thunderbolt 3 is a good inclusion in the new MacBook Pro. Apple has revised the port completely.

It has dropped everything except for the 3.5 mm headphone jack. Plugable carried out a series of tests to check the hubs, adapters, docking stations and other accessories.

As per the test results Thunderbolt 3 devices have not done well. The tests results are:

• Both the DisplayPort and HDMI adapter failed to work.

• A USB Type-C port failed

• Docking station showed issues

• Alt mode devices were working fine.Including VGA adapters.

Display Port and HDMI work in Alt-mode because it makes use of a Type C port to carry non-USB signals.

However the problem is not solved by the Alt-mode option. The issue may be faced anywhere along the chain. Many type-C cables do not support Alt-mode. To sum up your Thunderbolt 3 accessories may not work with your new Mac.

Second generation Texas devices do work with the MacBook Pro, though.
