The new POTUS Donald Trump’s victory in the 2016 elections spells trouble for action regarding climate change. He apparently thinks that climate change is more of a hoax.

The Paris agreement regarding climate change may have suffered its biggest loss after Donald Trump was elected the leader of the Free World.

His winning the 2016 election in the United States does not seem to be a good sign for those clamoring for more stringent measures against greenhouse gases. It looks like Donald Trump has labeled climate change to be nothing but a big fraud.

He thinks that the United States ought to reject the Paris agreement. In fact, Trump wants to mine for more coal which is the dirtiest of fossil fuels as far as the effect on the environment is concerned.

Many of the environmentalists that are due to meet in Morocco this week have disapproved of Trump’s attitude towards global pollution and global warming.

They feel sure that he will oppose any attempts to end pollution. Cleaning up the environment is the last thing on Trump’s mind. By the time Trump takes up office of POTUS in January, the truth of this trait which is a fundamental part of his personality will come out in the open.

One of the members of the European Green Party also spoke of how Trump’s election to office will be detrimental to the West on a global level. The USA’s relations with other nations and its foreign policy will both suffer under Trump’s leadership, according to Bloomberg.

The world will be embroiled in new wars and many things will change. It goes without saying that not all of these changes will be for the best. Under the previous President, the US rescued the process of dealing with climate change.

Yet today the USA may once again back off from showing any sincerity towards climate change. This has occurred during George W. Bush’s stint in the White House.

The agreement reached until now had 190 countries including China on board. With Trump claiming that climate change was nothing but sheer hogwash, it seems that putting an end to pollution has been dealt a severe blow.

With his inauguration to office as the most powerful man on earth, Trump will see to it that the world does not become a clean and pristine place. This is sad indeed.

The work of environmentalists has been made twice as difficult. Trump’s victory means that the USA will not spearhead any moves for the betterment of the entire global village like it did under President Obama.
