GoPro Recalls All Karma Drones

Chinese DJI just got thrown a help line from GoPro.

DJI has supply issues with the Mavic Drone. Now competitor GoPro announced a recall of the Karma drone. Both drones are the leading professional folding drones on the market. Drone fans are now left without any valid option for a new professional compact drone.

The GoPro Karma drones can lose power during operation, which is a fatal problem. Losing power while in the air can cause accidents and damage the drone. "GoPro is committed to providing our customers with great product experiences. To honor this commitment, we have recalled Karma until we resolve a performance issue related to a loss of power during operation. We plan to resume shipment of Karma once the issue is addressed," says GoPro in a statement.

The recall was triggered after a small number of reports of the Karma units losing power during operation. GoPro is investigating the issue and working in close coordination with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and the Federal Aviation Administration.

The recall is only for the Karma drone. HERO5 Black and Karma Grip are not subject to a recall. To find out how to return your GoPro Karma and get a refund visit gopro.com.
