As expected the new Nintendo Entertainment System completely sold out right at launch.

Update Nov 12: NES Classic sells now on the Amazon Marketplace.

The launch day Nintendo NES Classic Sales events at Amazon and Dell have sold out in minutes. Amazon offered the Nintendo NES Classic Edition at 5pm ET on Nov. 11. The NES Classic sale on Amazon at 5pm ET on November 11 was a disaster.

The NES mini was only in stock for seconds and many customers lost it in their cart during checkout. The demand by far outstripped the supply Amazon had available. There are no new scheduled NES Classic sales known.

It is back to using in stock trackers such as zoolert. Note, in the case of the NES Classic, mobile and email notifications are too slow. You need to use the webpage alert feature and keep the page open on your computer. Switch on the sound alert. When you hear a notification sound, flip to the browser tab where zoolert is open and find out which store as stock. Then its just a matter of luck and a fast mouse hand.

The in stock notification on the Nintendo NES Classic Edition page on amazon.com is also too slow for ultra-high demand items like the NES Classic. For some reason there are no marketplace offers yet on the NES Classic on amazon yet. There are plenty of reseller offers on the hard to find Hatchimals.

The Nintendo NES Classic is so rare that prospectors asking thousands of Dollars on eBay for it. There is one listing asking $13,000 for a NES Classic. This is insane. More reasonable offers on eBay for the NES Classic are around $300. Auctions on the NES are going over $250. The premium buyers end up paying is more than $200. The NES Classic is much more over priced than the hard to find Hachimals.

Resellers have started on Nov. 12 to offer NES Classic deals on the Amazon marketplace starting at $189 plus $12 shipping. Other deals for the NES Classic on the Amazon marketplace are $250 and up.

There are already many accessories for the NES Classic. The My Arcade GamePad Classic Wireless Controller for the NES Classic Edition Gaming System is available for pre-order on amazon.com for $14.99 and ships November 30. Find more NES Classic accessories to enhance the trip to the 80s. Especially extension cables for the controller are a necessity according to reviews of the new retro Nintendo Entertainment System. Going wireless is though the way to go, especially at a low price of $15.

Nintendo has issued a statement on Twitter on November 11 acknowledging the shortage of the NES Classic Edition. "The Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition system is a hot item, and we are working hard to keep up with consumer demand. There will be a steady flow of additional systems through the holiday shopping season and into the new year. Please contact your local retailers to check availability."

This is not that comforting to consumers. Nintendo completely underestimated the demand for the $59.99 NES Classic Edition. It might be intended by Nintendo to create a shortage, but this one seems too extreme.

The Nintendo NES Classic Edition launched with a big party in the Nintendo's New York flagship store. Attendees of the launch event had a chance to pick up one of the $59.99 NES Classic Edition consoles. Right after launch the NES Classic is sold out at all online retailers.

We have picked the NES Classic early on as an item to buy before Black Friday. It sold out on launch and NES Classic is not advertised in any Black Friday 2016 ad. eBay Buy Now offers are priced already at $200 for the Nintendo NES Classic. This is more than three times the regular retail price.

The next best chance right now to get a NES Classic is to visit stores this morning or try the Dell NES Classic online sale listed below. The NES Classic is sold at:

Amazon

Walmart

Target

GameStop

BestBuy

Dell

ToysRUs

The Dell site says that the retailer will start selling the Nintendo NES Classic, today, Friday at 11am ET. Delivery is 7th of December. The Dell NES Classic offer might be the best chance to bag a Nintendo NES Classic today.

The $59.99 mini retro console is the perfect holiday gift for old and young video game fans. This console will be the surprise hit for nintendo this Holiday Shopping season. Now the Nintendo NES Classic is as hard to find or maybe even harder than the Hatchimals.

NES Classic Sale

The NES Classic console is officially on sale as of November 11. The shrunk NES console features the classic Nintendo NES controller many geeks have grown up with. The retro console comes pre-installed with 30 classic NES games including Super Mario Bros., Pac-Man, Metroid, Donkey Kong, The Legend of Zelda and Kirby's Adventures. The NES Classic Edition system is a miniaturized version of the groundbreaking NES, originally released in 1985. Black Friday 2016 is on November 25. Read the latest Black Friday 2016 news.
