iPhone 8 May Include OLED Screen

Rumors have been around since long that the next iPhone will include OLED screens. Apple will be introducing the new phone on its 10th anniversary. If this rumor does not materialize we will be shocked as per the rumors’ presence since long.

The most authentic proof we have up till now is the comment made by Sharp’s CEO Tai Jeng-wu. The latest development is that J.P Morgan an investment firm has given us numbers too. The numbers were obtained after recent investigation.

The investigation was done on Apple’s Securities and Exchange 10-k filing. Analysts discovered a yearlong purchase order which costs $4billion. This purchase is thought to be for the OLED screen iPhone to be released on the tenth anniversary.

Sharp has shown its open consent and willingness to fulfill Apple’s needs. However it may be that Samsung is also at the receiving end of this purchase order. This is because producing OLED screens is very expensive and also requires high expertise.

Samsung is adept as per this criterion. However, Sharp will be a more comfortable choice for Apple as Sharp is owned by its long term Foxconn partner and Japan Display. Another thing which should not be forgotten is that some industry insiders do not think Apple will give up its LPTS technology. This would be a sound decision.

The technology has made a mark in the industry and certainly gives the best LCD in the market. Believe it or not the next iPhone might come in three variants.
