Alfa Romeo Stelvio SUV was revealed at Los Angeles Motor Show

The LA motor show revealed the Alfa Romeo Stelvio SUV in a total Alfa fashion today. The SUV was revealed in Quadrifoglio form which was expected earlier on as well.

The Stelvio Quadrifoglio is powered by an all-aluminum bi turbo 2.9 liter V6 petrol engine. The output of this engine will be 505bhp and the torque provided by the Stelvio will be of 443lb.

The hot Stelvio will be offered in only one option of four wheel drive. It is pretty unlike that of Giulia that is offered in both rear wheel and four wheel drive, according to AutoCar.

The Alfa Romeo’s Q4 system will send 100 percent torque to the rear wheels in normal drive but the torque is distributed 50/50 in through torque vectoring. The company has used two clutches in the rear that allows the toque to distribute evenly among the rear wheels.

According to the Alfa Romeo and Maserati CEO, Bigland, people will love this SUV as they will be highly impressed with its driving dynamics. Alfa Romeo Stelvio SUV will be featured with an eight speed automatic gearbox.

The gearbox is pretty advanced and has the tendency to shift gears in mere 150 milliseconds in Race mode. The driver will have the ability to change gears by using the steering column mounted aluminum paddles.

The Alfa Romeo Stelvio SUV will be offered in four selected drive modes which include Dynamic, Natural, running-cost-friendly Advanced Efficiency and performance-oriented Race.

It has been fitted with carbon ceramic brakes that come with Alfa Romeo’s integrated brake system. It will be offered in a 2.0 liter petrol engine with 276bhp for Stelvio range.

No engines have been officially confirmed by the company but it is being said that it will be offered with 2.0 liter petrol and 2.2 liter diesel engines from Giulia.
