Baby Boom which is a small-sized concorde airplane by Richard Branson can zip in a beeline from London to New York within 3.5 hours flat.

A small-scale type of supersonic airliner has been made thanks to the supervision of Sir Richard Branson. It was unveiled today in Denver.

Invented by a company known as Boom and supported by the rich and successful Richard Branson, this Baby Boom jet could easily fly people from here to there and back at a record speed. It is said to be the globe’s speediest plane. Next year, it will take to the skies in its maiden voyage.

The creators of this super-plane claim that it can easily fly from London to the Big Apple within 3.5 hours. Now, that is superfast. It will undergo preliminary trials near Edwards Air Force Base, according to DailyMail.

Sir Richard Branson spoke of how he had always been deeply passionate about avionics and innovation in flight engineering.

Richard Branson’s company, Virgin Galactic worked in tandem with Boom to make this baby. Virgin Galactic’s administration headed by Richard Branson will be buying 10 such planes from Boom.

The speed of these sky skimmers will be 1451 mph. That is a 100 mph greater than the ordinary concorde. The fact is that the time is ripe for a change of speed from the 1960s standards.

Way back then, we didn’t have the technology to miniaturize the concorde. But today in 2016, the technology not only exists but can be further improved upon.

The engine on which this aircraft runs is produced by General Electric. The avionics equipment comes courtesy of Honeywell. As for the carbon shell, it arrived thanks to Tencate. Finally, Blue Force manufactured the composite structures.

Even NASA, Boeing and SpaceX contributed their bucket of water to the tributary. Concorde was taken as the base and it was immensely improved and streamlined not to mention finetuned for the sake of our futuristic times.

There was however no need for an afterburner. It was exciting to have so many of the top experts working together on this project. It was indeed a case of love’s labor that got vindicated.

The price of a ticket to board this super-fast plane is reasonable too. A lot of challenges and hurdles had to be overcome before the plane was ready. The public cannot wait for 2017 to arrive so that this plane becomes fully functional.
