We talked to a Target employee to get the inside track on how to find a Hatchimals eggs at Target Stores.

Hatchimals are the most popular toy this holiday season, so much so that even finding one has proven to be difficult for so many. In fact, one team leader at a Target store said that, "Keeping a Hatchimal in stock is harder than any other toy. Last season we had an Elsa toy that was popular, but this is like nothing we have ever seen."

We questioned this worker about how to get a Hatchimal at Target, and she gave us some great information that can help you get your hands on one without paying tons of money to Ebay. Target has not offered Hatchimals online in a long time. Finding Hatchimals in stock online is possible as Walmart and others release new Hatchimals almost every day.

Hatchimals at Target Stores

Go Early When They Are Stocking

If someone hears that a Hatchimal is out, they will immediately run to the store. Your best chance to actually get the Hatchimal is to go when the shelves are being stocked. This happens early in the mornings and it will vary from store to store. Toys are typically restocked on an almost daily basis, so you might want to check every chance you get.

Target Will NOT Tell You When They Restock Hatchimals

If you think calling up to Target and asking them whether or not they have a Hatchimal is a good way to go, you're wrong. As of this week, they are no longer allowed to tell you if they have Hatchimals in stock. You will have to come to the store.

A word of note is that the workers who answer the phone are typically in the fitting room or at customer service and have no way to check if they have them in stock. Since they are not allowed to tell you, they cannot ask over the walkie talkie system to find out or they could get in trouble.

Be Gentle

The person we talked to has said that parents have gotten violent over the lack of Hatchimals. Some parents have yelled at associates and some have even physically assaulted a worker. Christmas is already a trying time for retail workers and this year is extra tough for many.

Target Cannot Hold Hatchimals

Target is not allowed to hold Hatchimals for anyone, even people who work there. The woman we talked to has keys to the store and knows the security codes but still can't get her hands on one of the toys because they cannot be saved. You cannot leave your name with employees in hopes of getting a Hatchimal, nor can you bribe an employee into giving you a Hatchimal.

Check the Repacking/Clearance Section

Sometimes, even though it is weird, Hatchimals do get returned. Make sure you check in the returned or clearance sections to see if you can get lucky. Sometimes they will be a little worse for the wear, but you can even get a Hatchimal at a discounted rate.

At the end of the day, Hatchimals are always going to be popular. This year even retail locations do not know when they are going to get a new shipment. You need to be persistent and be prepared to try a few times before you get one.

The Hatchimals are the hottest Holiday toys, but you still can get one at sales price. Walmart has advertised a $48.88 Hatchimals deal for Black Friday. Target has not announced any availability of Hatchimals for Black Friday. We have been able to buy Hatchimals at the walmart online store and lived to tell the story about how bag a Hatchimals at online at walmart.
