Despite the initial hype around keeping stores closed on Thanksgiving Day, the major chains will open their stores on Thanksgiving Day for Black Friday 2016 sales event. A week ahead of Thanksgiving, the Black Friday 2016 ads with the details on the store opening hours have been released.

The Black Friday store hours are different from when the Black Friday sale begin online. Most of the stores that are closed Thanksgiving Day do offer Black Friday deals online on Thanksgiving Day. The Amazon Black Friday sale is mirroring the in-store Black Friday events hosted by its competitors by matching some of the advertised doorbuster deals. The availability of doorbuster deals online, gives Black Friday shoppers an opportunity to bag deals online and skip the trip to the mall if they are successful.

There is one important thing to keep in mind when planning your trip to the malls on Thanksgiving Day. You need to take time into account for lining up at the popular Black Friday stores including Walmart, Best Buy and Target.

Depending on your local store, you need to be hours before the Black Friday store opening time at the store. In some cases you might need to spend the night at the parking lot.
