The Nintendo NES Classic is sold out online. The last chance to buy a NES Classic for the regular price of $59.99 was on Friday in the 5th flash sale of the NES Classic online at This promotion has now ended and Walmart has not announced a new NES sale.

Walmart was the only online store besides GameStop that offered the new mini Nintendo Entertainment System all week. GameStop offered a bundle deal the last time on Tuesday. The NES Classic launched on November 11. Nintendo had now over a week to resupply stores and the might have done just that.

We already said in our latest report about the Hatchimals that retailers are shifting their limited inventories away from online shops for the Thanksgiving week. Hatchimals are more likely to be in stock at stores over the course of next week. We believe the same is true for the rare NES Classic.

A rumor on a video game discussion forum supports that theory. A long time forum member at CheapAssGamer posted that a retail employee told him that Best Buy is getting a stock this weekend on Saturday and Sunday. He cautioned that he can't confirm the rumor.

As the NES Classic is extremely hard to find any lead is worthwhile exploring. Visit your local Best Buy store ahead of the store opening hour to not miss out of possible stock of NES. Ask store employees about the availability of the NES.

It is also worthwhile the effort to visit the other stores that are known to carry the NES Classic. The list of stores include GameStop, Target, ToysRUs and Walmart. We'd love to hear from you in case you have information about the NES stock situation at your local store. We will send out our reporter to the malls starting Monday.

The NES Classic Edition starts at $229.99 from resellers at the Amazon Market Place. On eBay the Nintendo NES Classic Edition is listed for $199 in non-auction offers.

The NES Classic has not been on sale online anywhere the whole weekend. The last time is still Friday's NES Flash sale at the walmart online store.

The new Nintendo Entertainment System is a perfect product for the Holidays. It works great as gift for adults as well as kids. Families can enjoy playing the simple video games from the 80s together. There are 3rd party controllers and accessories that make the NES more fun to use.

Nintendo knows it messed up, underestimating the demand for the NES Classic Edition. Nintendo has issued a statement on Twitter on November 11 acknowledging the shortage of the NES Classic Edition. "The Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition system is a hot item, and we are working hard to keep up with consumer demand. There will be a steady flow of additional systems through the holiday shopping season and into the new year. Please contact your local retailers to check availability."

The shrunk NES console, retailing for $59.99 list price, features the classic Nintendo NES controller many geeks have grown up with. The retro console comes pre-installed with 30 classic NES games including Super Mario Bros., Pac-Man, Metroid, Donkey Kong, The Legend of Zelda and Kirby's Adventures. The NES Classic Edition system is a miniaturized version of the groundbreaking NES, originally released in 1985.
